Supply List for Classes in Any Medium

We will work in neutral colors, black or brown, in the first few classes and will gradually migrate toward color as the class progresses. If you are unsure of the medium in which you want to work, bring some basic figure drawing supplies to the first class.

Paints and Colors

Please bring the paints you are accustomed to using. At a minimum you will need a yellow, a red, a blue, and a way to get a dark. If you are unsure of what to bring, I suggest the following minimum set of paints.

• Earth yellow such as yellow ochre or raw sienna
• Earth red such as burnt sienna, sanguine, or venetian red
• Cerulean Blue or cobalt blue
• ultramarine blue
• Scarlet red, such as Cadmium red light, cadmium red, or quinacridone red
• Black or sepia

If you are using paint, I recommend artists' grade paint in tubes.

Brushes

Bring brushes that are appropriate for your medium.

Paper or other supports

Bring paper or other supports that are appropriate for your medium.

Other materials
